A most interesting thing about the mind, it has to ability to be both the master and the student, the trainer and the trainee. I think to myself, I do not like the I always do this or feel that way, I shall change it, and I can. There is an element of fear to this though. The ability of one to make change, changes with unknown consequences, or known consequences, to change you and who you are, in a sense a death of that self for the birth of a new, hopefully better self. There is also fear in the degree of change. I find myself at a crossroads in life, one of many intersections I have come along. Here I am though, armed with an abundance of knowledge on how to best guide myself toward a meaningful and fulfilling life. I am paralyzed by my attachments to ephemeral pleasures and luxuries afforded to me by birth. I am not ignorant, I am unwilling and fearful. Fearful of losing those who find themselves in this same plain of existence and would not be able to or willing to understand and accept changes I may make. Unwilling out of selfishness and entitlement. I want, so I take, but at what cost to others? Unsubstantiated fears on the most part but present fear nevertheless. I know the changes I am to make. I know I must make these changes. I will be as caring and forgiving to myself as I am to others because I understand that due to the human condition, change does not come easily.
I Can Stand By You

Because sometimes you need something beautiful.

“This cover of Stand By Me was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world. It all started with a base track—vocals and guitar—recorded on the streets of Santa Monica, California, by a street musician called Roger Ridley. The base track was then taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grandpa Elliott—a blind singer from the French Quarter—added vocals and harmonica while listening to Ridley’s base track on headphones. In the same city, Washboard Chaz’s added some metal percussion to it.
And from there, it just gets rock ‘n’ rolling bananas: The producers took the resulting mix all through Europe, Africa, and South America, adding new tracks with multiple instruments and vocals that were assembled in the final version you are seeing in this video. All done with a simple laptop and some microphones.”

The Colonel is Calling…

…sometimes you just gotta have those eleven herbs and spices. This should not be a terrible suprise. What was, at least for me, was when I pulled up to the drive through window and discovered that…
…Yes, this particular KFC was in fact featured on HealthDinningFinder.com. The food gave me a stomach ache and made me thirstier than a fish outta water in the Mojave. Colonel, I fear out late night affairs may be coming to an end :-/. ~end
Sunday Lunch
December 8th, 2008 § 2
Yesterday Sarah put on a nice Sunday Lunch for Clarissa, Tiana and myself. We had roast, veggies, and scalloped potatoes. I brought a bottle of Beaujolais left over from Thanksgiving and Tiana brought a Russian Chocolate Cake for dessert, which turned out to be enough to lure Roman out as well! As you can see from out post-dinner, pre-dessert lounging, the food was delicious and filling.
Afterwards I met up with Crystal who was in town from her life selah in Carlsbad and saw “Låt den rätte komma in,” which I thought was a fairly good movie. Sunday, a good nights sleep and a nice morning jog has made today quite enjoyable. ~end
Advent!
December 4th, 2008 § 0
My Boss Lady Amy bought her and I Advent Calendars for our desks. The benefit of keeping it at work is that you and eat the weekends on Monday! It’s from Trader Joe’s and super colorful.
It’s sideways bit you get the picture
. It’s got natural chocolate and what not, but is a little janky haha. First off, all of the images in the doors are upside down!
Yumm brains haha. Day three we discover that some of the images don’t even match up! I’m thinkin’ I get to eat a chocolate squirrel, no, it’s tree.
Haha, definately makes it the best advent calendar ever!! And since I am grown up now, I won’t cheat and open other doors and eat the chocolate and close them up…well, probably maybe not…
